Dept Removes Site About Overseas Legal Operations
The Memory Hole Restores It |

>>> Sometime fairly recently - late February or early March 2006 - a portion of the Justice Department's website was quietly removed. Specifically, it was the website of the Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training (OPDAT), part of Justice's Criminal Division. Its mission is summarized as:
OPDAT's homepage was here: http://www.usdoj.gov/criminal/opdat/selected/OPDAT-home.html But like every other page within the directory [www.usdoj.gov/criminal/opdat/], it has been removed and now results in a 404 error. (All that remains is this apparently orphaned page that contains 5 sentences about OPDAT.) I emailed the Justice Department's webmaster about this. I got a response saying that my query had been "forwarded to the proper unit." That's the last I've heard. The Memory Hole has recovered 14 of the pages (sans graphics). They are posted below. Thanks to JDRhoades for first noticing this and to CM for alerting me |
